Pre-K and Kindergarten "Kick Start" Program

The Carle Place Soccer Club has partnered up with Kick Start Soccer Academy to provide your child with the best soccer toddler program. All sessions focus on individual ball skills and building a sense of teamwork. We use interactive games and activities to apply newly acquired techniques. Each session is tailored to expose the young athlete to dribbling, passing and shooting.

Highlights of the Kick Start Program

  • Weekly 1 hour sessions on Saturday afternoon (typically 12 to 1 for Pre-K and 1 to 2 for K)
  • Fall and Spring sessions
  • Open to Girls and Boys in Pre-K and Kindergarten
  • Age appropriate drills and technical training with a progression to game conditions
  • Participation Trophies

Background on Kick Start Program Directors:

Teresa Petruccelli Weston attended Boston University where she was a four-year varsity letter winner for the Terriers. As two-time captain, she led BU to two America East Championships and appearances in the Division I NCAA Championship tournament. Teresa ended her collegiate career as a four-time American East All-Conference first team honoree. She was the conference’s Rookie of the Year her freshman year. Teresa graduated from Boston University in 2002 with a degree in Communications and Sociology. A native of Queens, New York, she was a member of the USYYSA New York Olympic Development Team as well as the Regional Under-16 and Under-18 teams. She played for the Long Island Lady Riders in 1996-97, helping the team win the W league championship in 1997.

Jacklyn James attended St. John’s University, a Division I Big East school, where she was a four-year varsity letter winner for the Storm. In 2007 and 2008, she led St. John’s University into the Quarter Finals of the Big East Championship. She graduated with a degree in Secondary Education and a concentration in Social Studies. She continued her education to attain a Master's Degree in T.E.S.O.L. She is now a English as a Second Language Middle School Teacher in Brooklyn. A native of Queens, New York, James was a member of the USYYSA New York Olympic Development Team and the Regional Under-14 team.

Teresa and Jacklyn founded Kick Start Soccer Academy in 2007. They both are licensed in CPR and are certified LIJSC NSCAA coaches.
